As efficiency becomes a more important part of our world, homes are being built more airtight and better insulated than ever before. While this is great for reducing energy consumption, it can limit the amount of fresh air entering the home.
Enter the HRV. Heat Recovery Ventilators, better known as HRVs, exchange stale indoor air with fresh outdoor air. During the colder months, an HRV captures heat from the outgoing exhaust air and transfers it to the incoming air, effectively preheating the fresh air before it enters the home.
During the warmer months, the system can reverse the process, helping to precool the incoming air. This allows the system to perform much-needed air exchanges while also helping reduce seasonal heating and cooling costs.
HRVs can operate as standalone systems with their own ductwork or can be connected directly to your home's existing ductwork, working in combination with the heating and cooling system.
